Pharmacy & Self-Care

Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can offer clinical advice, over the counter medicines and their use, to effectively and safely manage a range of minor health concerns. They can also help you to decide whether you'll need to see a doctor. You don't need an appointment and you won't even be asked to make a purchase. Every pharmacy also has a private consultation area for you to talk about your symptoms in private if you prefer.

Patients Running Late

As a result of patients failing to turn up to an appointment on time and the impact it has on other patients, whether a patient running late is seen will be at the discretion of the clinician.

As a general rule, the following applies:

  • Up to 10 minutes late – you will be seen but their appointment will be shortened.
  • 10 and 20 minutes late - The receptionist will check with the patient whether their problem needs to be dealt with today. If it does, patient will be clearly informed to wait until end of surgery or any slot that becomes available in between. Patient will be told to be prepared to wait or given the option to rebook another appointment.
  • 20 minutes or more late - you may not be seen. It is at the discretion of the doctor and dependent on the doctor’s availability. The receptionists will check with the patient whether their problem needs to be dealt with today.
